  • Portrait and landscape options allow you to use these number lines in a variety of ways:
    • Landscape-oriented number line:
      • Perfect along a larger vertical display area, such as a whiteboard, desk, or wall, providing a clear visual reference 
      • Ideal for hands-on activities like skip counting, addition, and subtraction, where students might need more space to move objects or draw around the line
    • Portrait-oriented number line:
      • Better fit for a smaller workspace or within a notebook/binder
      • Helpful for vertical math operations where students need more space above or below the number line to show their work, such as solving word problems or more complex equations 
  • Pages that contain one number line provide additional space for things like using manipulatives and working out word problems and/or equations.
  • Pages with multiple lines are perfect for when you need to print and cut out number lines for more than one student.  This is especially helpful if you need to print multiple lines to handout as a quick reference for students to practice or use during an assessment.  
  • Blank number lines are ideal for customizing.
    • Use numbers outside the basic range of integers -20 to 20.  You can write in any positive or negative integers, work on fractions or decimals, etc.

    • Print lines without tick marks if you prefer to draw your own.
  • Ready made number lines are a quick and easy option if you are working within the basic range of -20 to 20.  You can choose from  the following options: positive integers only, negative integers only, or a combination of both.
